Travelling in Amsterdam by public transport is easy and convenient. You can use the train, bus, subway and trams.
If you want to use public transport you need a public transport chip card (OV-chipkaart). The most conventient option for visitors is a disposable one-hour card or a day-card (valid for 1 to 7 days).
One-hour tickets can be bought from the conductor or driver on the tram or bus. Day tickets can be bought on the tram or purchased at the central station. Day cards can not be bought from the driver on the bus.
